Hi, apologies if this has been posted already but I was in Aldi today and saw these sausages. Less than 0.5 carbs per sausage or am I reading it wrong!!

Aldi's sausages are a good quality and taste nice too, carb wise it sounds about right as some of the gluten-free versions have less than 1g of carbs.

Does anyone know the meat content? I'm a bit of a stickler for 95% upwards to avoid fillers. I'm hoping these have good content as I'm literally salivating!!!

Having gone back into Aldis to get more of these only to find they were sold out. So searching through every packet of sausages I found these, which at not gluten free but do contain less than 0.5g of carbs. Which I have now stocked up on 6 packets. They tast very nice. They have 90% pork in them. I think they were £1.39 for 6.

Did get a few funny looks staring at labels but it is now second nature to low carbers I think.

Went to lidl tonight to see if they had similar and theirs are way higher in carbs than Aldi!

Amanda - thanks for the info - I think my little asda sell them. I usually get the sainsburys ones that are 97% which is the most I've seen. X

I tried the Aldi Gluten Free last week and they were very tasty very meaty & at £1.75 for six were good value, they came out the oven a lot bigger than when they went in they were really meaty too. I will try the Lincolnshire ones this week as recommended above

I think that's how they were seen in the UK until the recession hit, I buy my meat, fruit and veg there and I get much better value in everything than I did at the other supermarkets, and the veg is British grown and the meats/chicken are outdoor bred and again British. I use a GF grill and end up with zero fat because it runs away. Al.di have been the Salvation of many British families most of which are not Diabetic. Mind you, I do have a friend who uses them & Lidl because they are too tight fisted to go anywhere else, they always buy my xmas present there, now that is a step too far

Both Aldi's and Lidl's do excellent fruit and veg at excellent prices. They don't have the same range as the bigger supermarkets, but they make up for it in freshness and quality.

Need to try those sausages!

M&S do a very nice 97% pork sausage. O.6g carbs per sausage so slightly higher but not at all bad. They're very tasty too - I always buy a pack when I land in there.

That's your personal opinion

Haha! Of course it is my personal opinion.
Everything written on these boards originates from someone's personal opinion.

(Edited by B to remove a negative opinion about M&S shoppers! :D:D:D)

Of course they are gluten free, using trimmings combined wit rice flour and water as fillers.

Well, that's in Australia anyway, isn't it?

I have no axe to grind as we don't have a particularly local Aldi, so there's little danger I will encounter them.
