Alogliptin is a type of diabetic drug in the Gliptin range of medication.
The use of this drug is to stimulate insulin response to the glucose derived from a meal. It is usually given to T2s, who have an initial insulin response is weak because of insulin resistance.
It is usually given to T2 patients who are struggling to control blood sugar levels, or those that other meds have had side effects.
It works for some and not for others, time is usually given to see if it has an effect.
A low carb diet would help as well!
My wife was on alogliptin, because of pain meds, it didn't work in the long run.
She has since been given another medication, which has had some good results.
I am on sitagliptin, I have not had any problems with either taking or side effects.
It helps with my own personal battle with blood sugar levels.
Do give it a chance!
You only get your Hba1c test results every six months.
Best wishes
