Alogliptin and side effects

I was recently given Forxiga to take alongside of my Metformin
I experienced 2 bouts of Thrush within 3 weeks so was taken off it.
I have now been prescribed Alogliptin but am very concerned about the
common side effects, eg Hypos, diarrhea etc. (common with Metformin.
As anyone experienced unwanted side effects wkith thus drug.

A Gliptin like the one you have been prescribed is one of tests modern food glucose lowering drugs.
What it does is increase the insulin response after eating to cope with the glucose derived from the meal. Therefore the spike is lowered and helps with controlling blood sugar levels.
I have been on another Gliptin for about four years and don't have side effects.
There has been some good reports about the drug.

If you do, go back to your GP and your doctor will change to another medication.
