Oh yeah....
Last spring I had horrible neuropathy in my feet. I started ala and noticed a difference within days. After less than a month it was gone. It made so many other things better as well.
You should get R ALA as the R fraction is the absorbable type. I take 300 mg R ALA or 600 of regular. If it doesn’t say R then it’s regular. It seems most of us have to order it online.
I buy mine as www.swansonvitamins.com. I get the double strength 100. I divid my doses through the day

Opinions vary. I take it as a supplement (300mg daily) to help with nerve damage/ circulation problems developing in the future.
Apparently ala is a prescribed supplement in some countries ( Germany) to help prevent neuropathy.
A lot of people on the forum use ala on a regular basis with positive results, 600 mg being a recommended daily dose.
I guess it may be a case of trial error and see what results you get.

Even though I only take the regular ALA 300 mg my symptoms have all but disappeared.

Yes. I recently found some clean ones at Walmart of all places. 300 mg regular. And I don’t notice the difference. I mix them up at the Walmart ones are MUCH cheaper. A little of this....a little of that

Reducing my HbA1c from 53 to 40 has stopped the tingling in my toes without taking anything. Mind you it took about 2 years to go completely.

I used to take the RALA ones.
They made no difference to me.
Though many members here swear by them

I think as well that every member also needs to check that any vitamins/supplements do not intefere with the action of any other prescibed drugs...
