Alternative to HbA1C

Happy New Year everyone,

After a bit of advise from you knowledgeable lot.

In my last set of bloods my FBC has thrown up (among other things) a high Haemoglobin level, which I've had a referral for. Would this affect my HbA1c results, and if so should I be asking the DN for an alternative test - and what should it be?

High haemoglobin cause skew HbA1c results. I believe the alternative test is a Fructosamine test.
