am i cursed?

probably some would be a coincidence, but if you are having these reactions to a 'non-live' flu shot..it's dam lucky you don't get the 'real' flu

I had my flu jab in October, I have been having them for many years without a problem but two weeks following this year's jab I came down with the most horrendous cold. I was just recovering from that when another one arrived, this time causing a chest infection meaning a course of antibiotics. Five weeks down the line and this weekend I have suffered what I can only describe as FLU! Runny nose and eyes, coughs, sneezes, headaches, shivers, sore skin, in fact so sore to the touch I couldn't bear to turn over in bed or to comb my hair and I have slept the clock round. Today I actually feel human again but have no energy to do anything, including eating.I have struggled with food all weekend having eaten little which I realise with diabetese is not good. Maybe it is just coincidental but I will think twice about so readily taking up my flu jab next year and just take my chances....couldn't really do worse could I? Sorry to go on but I feel miserable

That is exactly what happened to me last year. Except mine ended up in 5 months of total misery with the longest period of 6 days between colds in that time and chest infections never clearing up despite the antibiotics so strong they are meant for malaria!! GP was considering finally having to have steroids, but it finally disappeared in June when my first miserable cold started 28th December.

I have been around a neighbour doing some work for us whose had a cold now for two weeks and this time (without jab) I still haven't succumbed to his germs...

So naaah, never again...

The short answer is yes... You are cursed lol

I have found nowadays whenever I go to the doctors about anything, I am told 'it's because I have diabetes' it used to drive me insane now I just except that I am cursed and blame everything on diabetes.... If I'm late for work and my boss asks why, I say ' it's because I have diabetes' lol he never asks me To expand... So there are some benefits.

Anyway joking apart I hope you feel better soon

The thing is, the annual flu jabs only inoculate against whichever mutated strains of flu the prophets predict will be likely to circulate in the year to come.

By the time the jabs have been formulated and manufactured, the original flu strains may have mutated so far the jab doesn't work even on that flu virus.

In addition, the solution in which they suspend the vaccine contains chemicals and preservatives which cause reactions in some people.

My personal choice is that, if I am going to be exposed to this year's flu virus, I would rather do so with the best immune system I can maintain (good nutrition, supplementation, sensible hand washing and avoiding colleagues who think nothing of coughing into their hands and then grabbing my computer mouse!).

I sincerely believe that the flu jab depresses the immune system for some weeks after injection - increasing you chance of picking up other bugs during that period, even if it results in an improved resistance to a few particular flu strains.

Thank you, I'm getting there and hoping for a better day tomorrow. Must remember to remember to blame my diabetese, see if it works

I still feel as if ive been kicked all round my back and stomach, been constipated, stuck to the recumbent bike in the gym with some leg work and feet on the vibroplate to see if it helps by lumpy foot issue

did worry about the warning sign for the vibroplate, especially the Alien implant bit
