hi, iam a 44 yr old female who is over weight, my grandmother had diabeties and now i seem to be getting a strange array of symptoms which when i searched online it said i had a high risk of diabeties , iam freezing cold in daytime even when its warm and at night i sweat a lot, i have extreme tiredness, blurred vision, my heart seems to beat an extra beat about 20 or more times a day, burning on the edge of my right foot, i have had these symptoms for quite a few weeks but i dissmissed them becaue i have an underactive thyroid and nerve damage from a spine op and i always thought the only symptom worth worry about was being thirsty and getting up at night to go to toilet, i do get up twice at night where i didn't before but iam not thirsty. i understand i need to go to see gp which i will on monday but i would like your opinions if possible thanks

Hi.
Welcome to the Forum.

Any opinion anybody offers would be just speculation. You may or may not be Diabetic.......nobody here can confirm or deny your suspicions. Your GP can do tests to confirm any diagnosis, it could in fact be many things. Best to wait till Monday when you see your GP and if it turns out you are.....come back here and we can all give you plenty of advice and support. :)

For now, you will have to wait I am afraid.......

Hi Helen
have you spoken to your GP about your worries as you have had a spinal operation with nerve damage it may need a follow up .Don't try and guess the answer a test of the DR will soon tell you :D
Good luck JF.

Hi Helen
This is only an idea but when you next see your GP ask about B12 screening as these can give you the same feelings. I am a Type 1 diabetic and have just been diagnosed with low B12 and have had these feelings, but remember every one is different.
