Amazed!

That's interesting.. I'll be interested to hear what they have to say especially as (with your HbA1c) you are not really diabetic any more.. well we know you are well controlled but the specialist may have never seen that before...

***Update***

Well, as expected, my specialist was overwhelmed at the result! He took me off Metformin straight away and said check A1c/lipids in 4 months. He gave a sharp intake of breath when I mentioned LCHF but quite rightly agreed he could not knock the results.

He was slightly concerned that my HDL and LDL cholesterol levels were respectively too low and too high but they are literally borderline so recommended eating more oily fish:

Serum HDL 1.1 mmol/L
Calc LDL 3.0 mmol/L

So it is well and truly a maintain for me from here on in! Hopefully continuing LCHF/IF will maintain my A1c levels without the need for Metformin - I'll let you know in 4 months!

Thank you all for your wonderful support - keep up the great work and good luck with all your personal journeys.

So he obviously hasn't done the online training that the Royal College of GP's has sent out then.
HDL levels can be influenced by eating more dietary fat so maybe more bacon and butter to get those up.. but cholesterol is an interesting non issue usually. Its such a shame that most docs aren't up to speed on current thinking

Indeed. I'll give it a shot but I'm already trying hard on the fat front!

Well done @Molts
