That's interesting.. I'll be interested to hear what they have to say especially as (with your HbA1c) you are not really diabetic any more.. well we know you are well controlled but the specialist may have never seen that before...
Congratulations on your massive three month drop you’ve clearly hit on what works for you. Please accept a congratulatory hug and pat on the back from me. You must tell us how the diabetic specialist reacts when you see them and what they say re going forwards. Keep going @Molts youve clearly got a good formula working for you and hope you are enjoying your new way of eating.
***Update***
Well, as expected, my specialist was overwhelmed at the result! He took me off Metformin straight away and said check A1c/lipids in 4 months. He gave a sharp intake of breath when I mentioned LCHF but quite rightly agreed he could not knock the results.
He was slightly concerned that my HDL and LDL cholesterol levels were respectively too low and too high but they are literally borderline so recommended eating more oily fish:
Serum HDL 1.1 mmol/L
Calc LDL 3.0 mmol/L
So it is well and truly a maintain for me from here on in! Hopefully continuing LCHF/IF will maintain my A1c levels without the need for Metformin - I'll let you know in 4 months!
Thank you all for your wonderful support - keep up the great work and good luck with all your personal journeys.
