Amusement park *URGENT*

Hi guys

I'm going to an amusement park soon. Just wondering whether I have to test my blood sugar before each ride and things like that? Will my bg suddenly drop and get a hypo. What would happen if I did get a hypo on a ride?

It's a bit much testing before each ride, the only things to be aware of is exercise and what you eat, no doubt you will be walking alot so just test every 3 hours and take insulin as normal.. The adrenaline from the rides might make you go high possibly.

I did a parachute jump last year so could only test before I went up in the plane which took about 20 mins to climb and then a couple of mins to fall, when I tested later I had gone slightly high but nothing dramatic, just go and have fun

Not sure about testing before every ride, maybe just up your test rate a bit more because you will be spending a lot of time on your feet wandering around.

Make sure you have something easily portable for hypo fix though.

After the rides you may actually see your sugars go up since the adrenalin can cause your body to dump the stuff so be aware that you may get lows later in the day.

After an adrenalin induced glycogen dump, your body has to restock glycogen and it does this by removing glucose from the blood. This is usually seen after an exercise induced glycogen dump.

If it belays any fear of hypoglycaemicia during a ride? Check you blood by all means before hand..
Don't forget to carry something sugary!

Sorry so late to reply. Thank you for that insight. Very helpful. Luckily I didn't have any lows, or any hypos. Tbh, I haven't had one since I've been diagnosed. Maybe it's because I'm in the honeymoon period maybe? Idek
