Hi,

Suppose I'll start by introcuing myself. My name is Martina, I am 24 years old, living in Copenhagen, DK.

Diagnosed with diabetes type 1, about 4,5 years ago. With a diabetes that are not very managable, I am just hoping to find some people in the same situation, and maybe learn a thing or two.

Regards,

Martina

Hi Martina, when you say your diabetes is "not very manageable", do you mean BG levels ? Maybe we can help if you explain a little more ?

Hi,

Thank you, that is very sweet.

Yeah it's mainly BG levels. I am being treated with a pump since june last year. Got a pump after my BG levels have been very high for a long period (hadn't been below 15 mmol/l for about 6 months). However the pump has made little to none difference, and very few things seem to help. I check my bloodsuger several times a day, I eat pretty healthy (noone is perfect :P), I calculate carbs and I excercise several times a week. None which results in any improvement of my bloodsugers. I am going next week, to recalculate my carb/insulin ratio with my nurse, but I am becoming sceptical if that is going to work.

I found out last autumn, that my 3 half sibiling (that I don't unfortunatly have a relationship with) all have a very rare insulin restitant disease. I took a insulin resistance test at the doctors last time I was there, and I am almost hoping it would be positive, cause that would at least explain some parts of it.

If you have any good suggestions I'll be more than happy.
