Ankle injuries

Hi,
last friday I fell and twisted my left ankle and afterwards it swelled very quickly,

I saw nhs walk in and was sent for x ray, it has chipped off a piece of bone attached to ligament and is very painful 8 days later. I have a space age looking splint, to use and crutches and been signed off work for 2 weeks probably a bit longer to come,

my concerns are for the damage to nerves and blood vessels, the clinic told me not to worry being type 2, but my ankle is still swollen about 20% of what it was, and very painful.

any advice would be gratefully received, plus driving advice aswell, am not driving, should i tell ins co/dvla/?

I can't imagine you driving for the time-being so no need to inform insurance or DVLA, I've broken and twisted my ankles a few times since being diabetic and haven't had problems with nerves or blood vessels, try not to worry needlessly and concentrate on geting better, any problems or concerns then go back to the NHS drop-in centre.
 
I badly sprained my ankle on honeymoon* and it took nearly 2 months for the swelling to go down.
Google the "RICE" protocol for dealing with ankle injuries (REST-ICE-COMPRESSION EXERCISE).


*I was running, not engaging in weird sex activites.

Have to comment - why were you running.... she'd already caught you! :lol:
 
I broke my ankle Wednesday in motorcycle accident..leg in a cast for 4 weeks any thing I should watch for..on insulin Levmeir & NovoRaid..taking Ibuprofen for the pain ImageUploadedByDCUK Forum1440324017.400601.jpg
