Ok, so I was later going home than usual, so was late for lunch and thought I'd grab a sandwich from Ggregs. There was no nutritional info on the packaging, and only the kcals showing on the price thing. I am pretty new to all this, and so asked the person behind the counter for the carbs in the sandwich. She looked at the price label on the shelf, then excused herself and went in the back. After some minutes, she came back, and said they had no idea so were going to call customer services. by this time, I was cross, so told her not to bother and walked out. Now if they manage to put on kcals, and they manage to declare allergy info, or containing no wheat, then why can they not know the carbs? I mean, even if they had it in a file like m&s do for their stuff in their cafe? sorry to rant, but i was really cross, and upset, that grabbing a sandwich was a big deal. when it really shouldn't be that hard. Apparently there is a downloadable book app thing, but why should I? they should give me the info when I need it, on the pack or whatever. :problem: :x

I agree it's a little annoying but at least they were trying to help !! There is a good app called myfitnesspal, this also reads a lot of bar codes and is free. Another app is carbs&cals but it costs £3.99 I think, both very good.

Thanks, will look those up. I think I kinda have avoided grabbing stuff on the run like that, so its the first time I ran into this problem, and I just felt that I was being an inconvenience, and yeah. It made me angry. *sigh* guess its another thing on the list huh?

Just keep smiling Kerry ! Deep breaths when needed lol !

Think I need to learn that fast :P Got used to being grumpy and irritable, which I now realise was down to high sugars as well as stress. Gotta go back to deep breathing!!! 8)

Yes, how annoying. Be aware that shop sandwiches can be quite high carb. The bread slices are thick and sometimes have added sugar in the bread and then the contents, if they have a sauce, can have added sugar. So go for wholemeal or multigrain bread and avoid those dripping with sauce; not easy.

Do enjoy going to bakery but does really pxxx me off about the lack of nutritional info. Only go.occasionally to them now and take an educated guess, usually ok but sometimes way off.
