Congratulations on your wonderful results - what's even more impressive is just how long you've managed to maintain healthy figures in spite of the many life challenges that get thrown at us and simply getting older over time. Proving its sustainable over so many years in the face of the it's unsustainable mantra makes it even more inspirational.Hba1c 40.

mucho appreciato mu camaraderie.I'd agree with others, on other threads...it's stress .
Fantastically dealt with , but such a heavy load, on a daily basis .
I know you're disappointed.
I think see it as a fantastic result
You should by rights be in 70's on the stress alone with so much on your plate .
And as a viewpoint, you're stopping the tide with how well you manage all that you manage .
How would it be if you wasn't such a determined strong character ....mmhh .
Kudos & bravo .
Long may that lamont spirit be an example to us all.
"Life, is THAT your best shot."
YOU set the example I attempt to follow
Safe travels my T2 brother.
I thank you @Chris24Main.@Lamont D - I feel like this deserves something better than I have the nouce to convey.
I know that almost everything I do on the forum is really about building up the motivation to make a better decision in the next couple of hours, and I've only been doing this for less than a year. Taking the knocks can be hard. But - I also recognise that it isn't just about a selfish urge to do more ourselves; we're here to help each other - one fascinating side avenue on the entire scientific side of all of this, is the power of connection - we are not islands, humans are animals that connect and form communities, and this is as real a thing as understanding what a hormone is.
You have done more for more people than you can be aware of...
Allow yourself to take some of that support back - there are people rooting for you, and you will rebound..
Well done on what sounds like a very fraught, long & lonely journey. If T2 and prediabetes was shown to be a food condition similar to an allergy, it would be better advice than what they get now!
I know from the replies I get how fortunate I was firstly to find my endo, he did save my life, and his dietician who have me the details of filling in a good diary, the info to lurk on here, and start thinking about carbs and sugar, fruit and some of the obscure information he had to gather himself.Well done on what sounds like a very fraught, long & lonely journey.
Bravo.
I like your advice above .
When I first got DX'd and I read up on type two, I would over explain things when pushed to eat 'something ' by others.
Now, I just explain my body doesn't handle food 'X' very well, because I'm allergic to it.
Simpler, and most seem to back off .
Fully agree, the simpler approach above would make better sense early on over the advice I see far too often dished out by health care professionals as described by desperate posters, seeking help & information to manage a recent diagnosis of type 2.
And as with your posts & many others I have read, to inform myself of other conditions & those sufferers seeking help after being seemingly left floundering by surgeries etc, it's an all too common problem.
Disbelieved or given outdated dogma that just doesn't do enough to help the patients involved.
Forums like this are just such a godsend.
Offering support & practical help day one
Like miners of old, sieve through enough posts and you're pretty sure to strike gold in amongst the wisdom that others post, regarding what worked for them or how they cope with xyz , I know I did.
In a perfect world, I would have liked the advice given to me at dx TO have included pointing me to THIS forum.
I gained more knowledge & ideas about MY illness than any input from anybody else at DX or since .
And mine seems pretty common condition, sadly.
God knows how those like yourself even begin to cope with something so poorly understood, by those who perhaps should be able to offer better assistance than you seemed to get .
Sounds like anyone suffering from RH would be better served by being pointed to this forum at DX, as well.
Take care.
I have a basic curiosity, and I am not a cat lover.......Thank you for that @Lamont D ....as I do yours .
Firstly, wow for doing all the detective work, cumberbatch with a Scouse accent ....who knew ....
Secondly.
WOW.....from playing to leading those young players.
What a difference You have made to so many young lives.... brilliant stuff.
And of course the hardship of
COVID AND losing the football.
You know life's hard, but that's just a double whammy of a **** storm life threw you .
So even more credit to you, after wrestling RH into an honourable draw & holding the line for so long.
To then face such multiple assaults on your senses, manage Mrs L AND come up for air at any point..I think is amazing.
All I can do is echo your experience of the goodness of members.
The warmth of that greeting as we all stumble out of our own post DX storm, dazed and searching for safety & help., has I believe done SO much to help so many stabilise their lives, if not actually saved many as well, which is my guess.
Best wishes as always.
When the going gets tough
The tough gets going kinda fits you & describes You well.
But as I know you like sci-fi,
The picture I have of you now is more "Terminator 2 judgement day, T-900."
No matter how battered & bruised it gets, it just keeps getting up, again & again .... relentless in its pursuit of it's goal.
(Obviously, the good version, trying to help destroy Cyberdyne & protect Mrs L, sorry, ofc I meant John Connor )
So I have faith no matter what the battle, you'll be forever emulating Arnies catch phrase .

Stay safe.
Stay well
From reading your really interesting and informative posts @Lamont D I think you're definitely not a coward. Please don't ever think of yourself in this way. Researching and making an informed choice is using wisdom, and you help so many people on this forum, so I just wanted to say thank you.I do think that I am a coward, cos after taking things into consideration, I tend to take the easy option in many circumstances. Or its a clever thing to do. I just don't know?
