VLC seems to be an established anacronym for Very Low Calorie. Certainly the VLC and LC merge when nearing starvation, but whether reversal is due to one or the other is not proven. Only that the combined effect is proven. What we do not see here is whether an LC diet with higher calories (aka LCHF) is rcapable of giving remission. Anecdotally there is some evidence, but not an RCT to prove it.

The OP study certainly discusses the possibility it can, but does not offer it as being conclusive.
