Hi... I was diagnosed December, with a Hba1c of 91 and FBS readings of 14.7, rising to 22-23 in the day!!
Today, one month on, I'm reading FBS of highs 8.3 and normally 6.9-7.6 and day readings around 5.7-6. First thing I'd say is don't panic too much over your bgc readings, they aren't that bad in my eyes. You seem to be doing like me and tackling it head on. I'm also on one 500mg metformin in a morning, but hoping to be off that soon and be diet alone. I too try to follow an lchf approach but do like a good sarni
I find the two single biggest effects on my readings are 1) regular exercise. I am very busy for work, being on my feet all day as a hairdresser then DJing and in two bands most evenings keeps me going, but even that didn't affect my bgc. Since I started back at the gym, just a couple of small sessions a week, I've seen my FBS drop from the 8-9 range to the 6.5-7.5 range and similar drops during the day so I would highly recommend getting going with exercise
The other thing (which may be coincidental as I started the same time as gym) is using Truvia

. It seems to not only replace sugar but on reading up a little on sites, stevia producers claim that it helps level bgc and even helps the body in insulin production

I had a flip out not long after I was diagnosed, so that is also I believe perfectly normal, but really... If you're committed to healthy living, going forward you'll have no issues, feel better, look better and be better
Good luck (although it sounds like you don't need it so just keep up the good work)
