You want some dextros in your pocket for this period or some liquid glucose, just be careful with the liquid as you can easily have too much.

My personal choice is dextros 2 for £1 most supermarkets.
 
Look up ketogenic diet. Just lost 21 lbs over 3 months on it with running and gym too. 5.5 now totally turned it around . High protein high fat liw carb no sugar . Works
