Hi Just having a run of high blood sugars. GP has given me extra meds and I'm being very careful, but still have blurry vision, headaches and generally feel rough.
Any suggestions. Im type2, moderately active, have liver issues, low carb. Possibly need a re vamp on what Im eating. Any ideas.? Not my first rodeo but Im running out of steam. Thank you so much.

Hi @neverforever .
Before anyone gives advice, it would be useful to know what your new meds are and if the new meds have risk of hypo? This is because going very low carb on some meds can increase the possibility of hypos. So caution needed.

Hi Thank you. Ive been put on Glicazide 40mg BD.
That is a medication that can lead to hypos. So , are you checking blood glucose levels regularly, and keeping record of them, and what you have eaten?
You should, perhaps, check with doctor if those symptoms last.

Hi Thank you. Ive been put on Glicazide 40mg BD.
I believe the max dose of gliclazide is 240mg per day, so your GP does have scope to increase it. (My T2 dad was in glic for a few years till he took up low carb and his GP took him off it).

Hopefully the hypo risk means that your GP is now funding your meter (looking on the bright side).

Bearing in mind that illness can cause high blood sugars I wouldn't necessarily assume that all your issues are caused by the diabetes, so it might well be worth hassling your GP some more.

Good luck.
