Any Flickr users out there?

I use Flickr. I like to photograph trees, sunsets and sunrises.

I have a flickr account but I haven't used it for years and it doesn't look like I will in the future as it tells me I haven't got an account despite the fact that I can find my pages

When I try to log into my page it just keeps telling me I dont have an account and to enter my yahoo ID which I dont have :D

Some great shots there whatdoesthisbuttondo

I see you use a Canon 40D as I do can I ask you what lenses you use especially for your bird shots in the Middleton Park album?

Cheers Sid!

I use a 70-200f4L.
The table is about 2m away and is sheltered on three sides so the birds are brave enough to skip on and off it.
They are all hand held, but this time of year I should be using a tripod as the light isnt too bright.

OK Cheers, I thought it may be an L lens, out of my reach now I'm not working  Still I'm not sure I could get that close anyway to my bird table. Back to the drawing board as they say

Have you tried one of those collapsable hides?
--mind you they will probably be as expensive as the lens!

DO you still go fishing, as you have lot of shotys of where youve fished or rodents that have nicked your bait!

My respiratory problems stop me fishing a lot of the time now as I cant tolerate the cold or wet weather but I do have a couple of bivvy's, fishing tents in olive green fabric and have been thinking that next year I will try putting one up in the garden close to my feeders leave it up for a week or two for the birds to get used to it and then sit it out for a morning with a flask of coffee or soup and my camera

Some beautiful photos there Spiritflier

I almost want to sell my gear now

Hello Si........Ive seen a lot of you on the Talk Photography board!

And dont worry Sid, he's a canon user with loads of kit which he's bound to grow out of.......and then sell off to his mukkers on the diabetes board
:D

Haha, nice try... I plan on being buried with my camera gear! My missus reckons if I was single, the camera gear would be on the other side of the bed! :D

Being type 2, I don't tend to worry about it much... My levels are high so having a busy, hectic day just tends to bring it down a bit. I've just started on a 0.6mg dose of Victoza this morning to go along with the 2x750mg Metformin SR and the Simvastatin I take. Once I get things under control, I'll have to start being more careful I guess.

The X10 really is THAT good... I've been taking it everywhere with me and I haven't found anything it can't do yet. I daresay it won't be much good for photographing fast-action stuff but I have the 7D for that. :)

What do you shoot with?

Regards,
Si

Hello Folks,

Yes i use Flickr, especially as i find it easy to let folks see my work as I also have a website for my pics...

www.AnythingGoesPhotography.co.uk it is still in the development stage but it is still viewable.... I also sell a lot of my photographs through Stock Libraries.. so it makes a little bit of extra every so often...

The last photographs shot were in monochrome.. Jpeg & RAW at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway's Wartime Weekend in October and the reception for the shots has been most suprising... Look out Beltring 2012 i'm attending....

My kit is Canon 550D, 18-55mm kit lens, 70-300mm Zoom lens, quite a few filters, 35-70mm lens, and a bit of deviation a spotting scope for Digi-Scoping.. if you haven't tried it borrow a scope and give it a go... Long range shots, steady as a rock at over 1/2 mile away... mind you its more like select the stone you want to shoot.. in building shots, or even better at 1 mile away shots making it look like you are standing next to it.. moonscapes are fantastic..

Happy shooting folks..

regards

Peter
