I got RX for Primary Addison's 2 months ago. Classic symptom's (which I had all of them) was low blood sodium (and falling), unexplained weight loss (like a pound a day), darkening skin color (I had people asking if I was getting darker), Bowl issues, hypo episodes (or so I thought as last one I laid on the floor for 2 hours and could hardly move). My blood ACTH was more than the machine could measure (several 100 times the normal level) and my cortisol stimulation test hardly caused a cortisol increase. A single blood test is all that is needed to rule out Addison's however it takes a few tests to determine which kind of Addison's someone may have.

I was called in to the Endo Clinic on Thursday gone as I had lost over 5kg in 3 months and had a FBC done at the begining of January and my potassium level was slightly high and had another blood test 2 weeks back and my potassium was still high. Had emergency bloods done with results back within an hour, Sodium level is at 124 and potassium still high, Ive got to go back for another blood test tomorrow and call for the results on Tuesday, the Consultant thinks it could have had something to do with Lisinopril tablets and has changed them to Amlodipine tablets. I have been tested for ddisons twice in the past and latest in 2014 and the results were normal, I had badly burnt my arm at work 2 weeks ago and maybe this could be making my Sodium levels drop a little as the burn is now very wet from where my skin has came off from most of my forearm.

I will post when I get my results

Well it turned out to be Lisinopril tablets that were causing the problems, I had been taking it for the best part of 20 years
