Anyone else on tresiba insulin?

Just recently started on this insulin and having problems with high glucose readings (in the 20’s)
Was wondering if anyone else having issues or have any tips with taking this medication., I’m eating healthy and keep changing injection sites as told by nurse I’m type 1 diabetic been like it for almost 10 years, any help would be great

Hi @colin2018 I used to take tresiba before the pump.

When did you start taking it ? I started on a much lower dose and then I gradually increased my dose over a month before levelling out, I was also frustrated when I first switched as I was running high often, but the trick with tresiba is to be patient and change your dose every 3-4 days gradually working your way up until you find a balance. Speak to your DSN about your adjustments as this is a basal which lasts around 36 hours you need some support finding your right dosage level, out of all the basals I tried tresiba worked best so stick with it

Hi Colin, I started Tresiba in July after a stay in hospital. It was great for a good few weeks , but I wasn't eating a great deal. Now my appetite is back, (I was a good eater before) I am having erratic readings, up and down and such a huge one this morning, I said a few choice words ! I think I will up my Tresiba by 1 unit ( it was 10 units, but I was getting hypo's, especially on wakening, so Dr reduced it to 9.

I started taking it about 3 weeks ago., my readings are usually high tho & therefore worrying me a little., but my nurse said it would take a while to get the right dosages sorted out, I’m currently on 32units a day!
