Thats because you monitored and ate otherwise you would have had a nasty hypo.So the other day went out had a few drinks and realised BGL was floating around 13-14 for some complete unknown reason so thought sod it took 50% of the usual correction dose as I was drinking (my drinks are usually a whisky on ice so NO carbs) anyway this and a walk from the bar to the club bough me down to about 7.
At the club mates decided to eat around 11pm so I ended up having poached egg salad some lamb chops with rocket and some kinda leafy salad probably about 10g carbs for this I took no insulin watched the CGM through the night whist on the ole whiskies and tequila then boom about 2hours later I see the protein rise starting to kick in, I guess in my drunken state that the protein for that meal was about 60g so go into the toilets and take 3u.
Rest of the the night I was around 4-6, get home around 5am and it's showing 4.9 and slowly dropping so I decided to have toast with the PB and go to bed.
Wake up at 7am work work and level are 5.5 and stable.
Unfortunately there are quite a few of us who become allergic to the libre sensors - in my case this happened after 8 months and coincided with readings which became completely inaccurate (think continuous readings of LO when your blood sugar is normal). I could live with the rash but not the fluctuating readingsThe issue with the Libre is that some sensors can be off, I usually do random spot checks.
I became allergic to Libre faulty sensors and appalling, sorry NO customer service. Medtronic Enlite is much cheaper after discounting the faulty Libre Sensors 4 out of 11 sensors failed one in less than a day the rest in less than a week.Unfortunately there are quite a few of us who become allergic to the libre sensors ...
