Hi, are you still getting the side effects such as loss of appetite, nausea, stomach pain etc
Sorry to hear that. It really is difficult and i struggle with constipation and the nausea. It will be really interesting to see how long it takes to return to normal with no nausea, appetite and glucose levels.. can u post?
Hi I started my run in phase about 3 weeks ago had stomach pains for about 4 days but I still feel tired but best thing is my blood sugar has started to drop instead of fluctuating
Hi Sally I started my Run In phase about 3 weeks ago. No major side effects. Pain in my stomach for about 4 days but I still feel tired. The main thing is my blood sugar has dropped and stopped fluctuating. Good luck xx

It is meant to have 20,000 participants, with repeat questionnaires over several years to assess the effect on heart problems.Sounds interesting but I’ve never heard of it? Would you be able to give more detail on what it is and what it entails or post a link about it? Think it would be helpful to other members to know more about it
But that's the nature of the trial. I'm on phase 2, so no idea whether I'm on a placebo or the real deal. Happy to take part in the name of science and as it's the University of Oxford, you gotta trust you are in good hands.
Hi, yes i started the Run in A tablets about 6 weeks ago. I felt a little nauseous part of the time, very nauseous part of the time and was sick once. I got to the 7mg stage and couldn’t face feeling so sick everyday thereafter. Unfortunately i pulled out, i wish i could have felt better enough to continue as the benefits sound promising.
I'm Type 2 (C. 20 years) (awful family legacy from both sides) and have just received the letter and signed up, but have heard nothing yet. I am interested to hear what others experience. My situation is complex because I have chronic diverticulitis and lupus. The diverticulitis is so difficult because what you eat for diabetes sends you on the toilet several times a day as well as limiting excursions! The surgery dietary advice I've received is mashed potatoes, pasta and white rice and white bread and "we can't cure everything." so you can imagine what that does to blood sugar, weight, electrolytes and vitamin retention. I hesitated because the study said that there may be stomach issues, so thank you for starting the thread and I'll be interested to hear what others experience. Of course, I could get the placebo and have to control my imagination
))
My diverticulitis and ibs vanished totally as soon as I went very low carb. I do make sure I include milled seeds for fibre when needed. With hindsight following the white startches advice never did anything for me, changing to brown meant my bg stayed high.
I am on the trial but post the random selection phase.
I had the same experience. After a month on the randomisation my BG levels had gone back up to double figures with no side effercts. I have now pulled out of the trial and have semaglutide prescribed by my GP, starting again on 3mg for 1 month and I'm now into my second month on 7mg. My morning BG level is stable at 6.0 to 6.3, but it goes down from that at lunchtime it is sometimes between 4.3 and 5.0 and I find myself eating chocolate to bring my level back up. I'm going to talk to my diabetic nurse to see if I can reduce my other medication (Metformin and Gliclazide).
