Anyone tired Spirulina?

Hi @O_DP_T1 It's a health drink so absolutely safe/fine to drink. Just check the carb value and bolus accordingly.

I have been of the opinion that provided you can match your insulin to the carbs, there is nothing that people with T1 cannot eat.
Some people struggle with matching their insulin dose and timing for certain foods and choose to avoid them. This has led to people with T1 adopting a low carb diet, for example.
There are other reason to avoid certain foods such as being vegetarian or intolerant to dairy or allergic to seafood or wanting to lose weight or ... but these are not specific to having diabetes.

However, there seems to be a number of "is food x ok for people with diabetes?" posts at the moment and I am not sure why.
What have I missed?
Is it just about carbs and BG spikes?
Or is there something else which people with diabetes need to look out for that I am not aware of?

I think Spirulina may well be inappropriate, and advise caution and medical clarification, for a person with diabetes and concomitant renal dysfunction, which may be a few people. It is marketed as having 'very high' protein content.
