if i feel a little unwell in the morning and cannot face 'solid' food, can i substitute with a large glass of apple juice?

Thanks....Ben m.c

Fruit juice is a really efficient way of introducing sugars into the system - so probably not, it would be unwise to give a definite answer without testing your bodies reaction to apple juice.

Hi Ben,
Apple juice is not an ideal drink for a diabetic. The sugar and carbohydrate content is much too high. What about a yoghurt or a glass of soya milk? I am sure you will get some other suggestions.
Can I ask why you would feel unwell or do you mean this as a one off?
Regards, Catherine.

Hi there...thanks for your advise.
I,m newly diagnosed as insulin dependant....just 3 weeks ago and this has i think just agrivated an existing problem with acute pancreatitis. Consequently i often feel very 'off my food' in the mornings.
This is the first forum of any kind i have ever been on so am a bit slow at getting to grips with it let alone finding these first few weeks with the disease very difficult and rather depressing!....in the last two hours my readings have gone from 24.6 to 2.8. I,ve resolved it with gluco powder but it is worrying that this could happen any time, anywhere. At least I'm safe at home at the moment.
Many thanks again.

Ben.
