According to Eating to Beat Type 2 diabetes, by Nutritionalist Sarah Flower. They are an occasional food for a type 2 on no medication. My Bowels miss them wondering how often I can get away with eating them on Keto.
 
I use the "suck it and see" method for fruit, I try a small serve of whatever fruit is available to see what I can tolerate bgl wise. Mostly my limit is a half of what ever fruit I try, down to a spoonful.

Make sure you test before and after to see what your bgl is to get an idea what you can tolerate.
 
They spike me, sadly.

The few times I have had them since DX,
The missus noted I get a little hyper, chat full on for 20 30 mins, might be worth watching for if you try them.

Might just be me, the sugars in other foods gets me that way too, like I can't be still.

Let us know how it goes.

Lchf has made that part of my day less often, but regular as clock work, luckily.
 
I can eat them after exercise without a spike
