Private hire is not controlled by the dvla, it’s controlled by the local taxi licensing authority in my area that’s the local council. No, you will have no issue with getting the license.. just make sure you comply with the dvla guidance on blood testing as you are on medication that can cause hypo’s and make sure you carry fast and slow acting carbs in case of low blood sugars
Hi there! When applying for a private hire taxi licence, having diabetes and taking medications like metformin and Gliclazide shouldn’t necessarily prevent you from getting approved, but it may depend on how well your diabetes is managed. You will likely need to provide a medical report from your doctor to demonstrate that your condition is under control and won’t affect your ability to drive safely. It’s always best to check with your local licensing authority, as they will have specific guidelines regarding medical conditions. Good luck with your application!
Sorry that's incorrect in my area at least. Requires a form re medical conditions which is quite detailed and includes questions about diabetes and hypo's etc, proof of blood tests over the last 3 months, and a medical examination.Nope private hire in a car need no special license just a car license a ‘hackney carriage license’ or ‘private hire’ is purely a permit from the local council
