Hi,

I have tried so many products for losing weight. But so far I haven’t found any products which give good results without any side effects. Now, I'm looking for products that have no side effects and can help me to control my weight. Can anyone help me?

The first thing to try is not a product, but to cut your carb consumption, & increase your veg. I lost a stone in 3 months.

Agree with Ian.The short answer to your question is that all chemical based drugs/products have side effects of some sort. The long answer I will leave to someone more knowledgeable than me.
Of course losing weight by reducing carbs takes a lot of will-power and effort but it is worth it in the long run.

From experience

1. If they work then you lose weight but need a new wardrobe

2. You may also need to buy more new clothes if the weight goes back

3. if they dont your wallet takes the hit

Its only money after all

All 'natural' weight loss products have side effects too. Not just the ones with a synthesised chemical in them.
There are no quick and painless answers to losing weight - plain old diet, exercise and support seem to be the best plan!

eating an healthy diet and exercise will shift the weight, ive managed to come from being obese to 10 stone and still falling just by eating properly, ive found that what people think is an healthy diet normally isnt very healthy at all, my aunt is eating nearlly everything weight watchers which isnt shifting the weight,on looking at the boxes there is more sugars than normal food ,just less fat so in my opinion arent much good, :D

Studies have shown that the most effective wieght loss medicines( all on prescription ONLY) are less effective than a combination of diet and exercise. Exercise alone doesn't make you slimmer,It makes you hungry.
Diet alone works and diet + exercise is the best. The most efffective diets for weight loss are"low carb. So Atkins or South Beach. or Ptrotein power. It has been shown that although sticking to any diet is HARD, low carb plans are easier than low calorie plans.

The last time I heard any results of comparing the results of weight-loss plans, Rosemary Conley and Weight Watchers were the best. I can't remember where Atkins came - it was either AS good, or SLIGHTLY less good. The study recommended a good eating plan, plus exercise.

Just eating weightwatchers food isn't supposed to help you lose weight if that's all you do. They are there to help you follow the plan of eating a lot of veg, some protein, some complex carbs and some milk. I lost 6 stone on weightwatchers, and unless it changed radically in 15 years, that's the 'healthy balanced diet' they advocate. For life not just for losing weight. Sadly epilepsy hit, I got depressed and started taking an AED that tends to make you put on stones in weight! I put on more weight than I lost at my heaviest :-(
Changing epilepsy tabs and diabetes has helped. Now I only weigh nearly what I did when I joined weightwatchers!

It was selection when I did weightwatchers, not points. 1 'bread' (aka complex carbs - not called that because is confused people) selection was equivalent of 1 medium slice of bread. From memory the min 'bread' selection was 3 and the max was 5 selections. That may have been the protein one, though! I'd have 2 slices of slimcia from breakfast, 2 for lunch and a selection of pasta or rice with my evening meal. I don't know how that fits in with carb counting. 2 slices of slimcia being 1 'bread' selection.

I've lost quite a lot ( about 40 pounds) by just cutting back hard on sugars and starches. Not from any particular plan. I did do Weight Watchers, but didn't lose ANYTHING( except £££££) and had BGs above what I consider acceptable. As you say, the WW diet is low fat/low calorie. A WW point is about 50 - 60 calories. Needless to say a good few of those calories consist of sugar.

i havent tried any diet in particular ,i just went lower carb and walked more and that worked for me :)

There will be a new product available shortly that can be bought over the counter from the chemists. It has Govt approval and has been found to be very effective.I cannot remember the name but I think it is based on the prescription drug Orlistat?,but at a slightly lower strength.Should be interesting to see what happens.

There is a product i would recomend HIGHLY for weight loss.

Food with fat in it, that has a low %age of carbohydrate. There is a live thread at the moment were the OP is LOSING TOO MUCH weight, and has had to cut their fat intake in order to slow the weight loss down.

I product I would NOT recommend is a high fat diet.
Not to everyone at least. I still believe that if you have a high risk of heart disease you should avoid eating fat. I have a high risk factor of getting heart disease (family history in case you tell me off for believing that diabetes is a risk factor too) so I'm watching my fat intake.

Just because something is patented doesn't mean it works. It just means you CAN patent it and no one else has. It's good quality research that makes me sit up and take note. Not anything that says we tested it on 10 people, or 10 people said they made them loose weight after 3 weeks! Not that I'm saying that this applies to any study mentioned in this thread! I don't know, I haven't looked at the details of any study.

The consumption of fat is not linked to heart disease. The consumption of fat combined with carbs, is.

Being fat IS linked to heart disease. So if you reduce the amount of fat on your body by consuming fat you may cut your likelihood of heart complications.

I'm not trying to convince you - but if you are avoiding fat based on the current advice, you may want to do a little research wrt the way consuming fat actually improves your cholesterol, trigylcerides anf BGs.

I've 'low carbed it', walked a lot and lost a stone since mid November and was praised by the dietician. I feel so good. Try it.

I lost 1 1/2 stone between June last year and this January, but I had a bit of a lapse so i've put a few pounds back on. I got my dad's inquest report back last weekend and it said that he had previous heart problems (he was on a statin but I didn't realise how bad it was) so I'm well and truly back on the wagon. Not taking any chances now!
