I read that if u have a lot of fat around waist it means u have a lot of fat in your Arteries but i am about 40+ inches around my waist and i haven't got cholestrol!!!

that doesnt mention arterial fat at all, just how obesity can be calculated.

After having my bloods tested here in Ghana where I am working I did my usual check on how well I am doing or otherwise (the way you do). and noted that the advisory limits given on blood tests actually change depending on the testing regime and/or laboratory - not much but a little.
I also noticed - for the first time my Serum Non-HDL Cholesterol numbers as my doctor had only ever mentioned LDL and HDL.

Take away HDL from Total Cholesterol - gives Non-HDL number! Which should be less than 3.8mmol/L

For me that was

Total Cholesterol ( 3.8) minus HDL (1.1) = 2.7mmol/L so relatively OK but for a high risk group such as T1 & T2 Diabetics (that's us!) it should be less than 2.6.

This explains and much of the argument above over the balance of what is what seems to be captured by this Non-HDL Reading. Much simpler to understand.

Thankfully not an issue (yet) for me
