At what BG do you usually first start to feel a hypo? What is considered a "healthy" level for hypo symptoms to begin?

My 1st one after being diagnosed was at 5.2. However it depends what you are doing. I was active thinking it wouldn't happen to me. At that point on high levels of insulin. As I'd only been out of hospital about two days. Getting your background (basal) insulin to the correct level. Will be your biggest triumph. I had 3.5 months off work. It was only when I returned I managed to drill that down. When you feel ready start to adjust if you don't feel it's right. But slow and steady adjustments win the race. Nobody can tell you the right amount. This worked for me. But there's nothing to say it'll work for you. I'm a postman and v active walking at least 7 miles a day.

When my blood sugars were in the 20's all of the time I used to think I was going hypo at the 5-6 mark. However, now that my sugars have improved I start to get symptoms probably around the low 4's (4.0-4.5). My symptoms have always been very strong even as a child and when my sugars were good as a child they would always start at the same number as what it does now. I personally don't think there is a "healthy" level for symptoms to start as the sugar they start at can range for many many reasons and what is healthy for one might not be for another.

Nicola has a good point there. As I've been in the 3's lately and not been shaking. Like I had in the past.
