I work with the Aynsley Lister Band – a very popular blues rock band that tour extensively throughout the UK and Europe. In March 2009, Aynsley released an album with a song called ‘Sugar Low’ which was written about his food cravings and the effects that follow due to his sugar levels. Since it’s release it has been a staple song in Aynsley’s live set and after the concerts, we’re asked frequently by people who either have the condition or know someone who does whether the song is written about diabetes. Recently, a fan with a diabetic daughter approached us to thank us for helping her come to terms with the condition. He said, as a teenage girl, she saw Aynsley as a role model and it helped her to accept the position she is in.
