Hi everyone, it's been over a year since I checked in on here. I'm back and really need some help please. Over a year ago I was following the LCHF way of eating. I lost weight and my sugar levels were great, I was able to reduce some of my medication, I was swimming 3 times a week and going to exercise classes 3 times a week, things were going great. Then I slipped down the stairs! In a nutshell I slipped a disc (didn't know this at the time) and as the condition got worse I eventually stopped all exercise, ended up with depression and my controlled eating went out of control.
I've fallen asleep twice today and feel continuously tired. I just checked my bloods and it was 14.6.
I keep trying to get back on track and am finding it so difficult.
I'm being treated for my back now and have started swimming again but I'm really struggling with what I'm eating. I know what I need to do but I just can't get motivated.
Sorry for the long winded winge but I really need some help and advise and a big kick up the a**e!

Sorry to hear about your troubles. You've taken the first step by coming back here and I'm sure you'll get the support you need.

You obviously know what works for you in terms of control, so maybe you need to go into full on planning mode - making sure you only go have the foods you want to eat in the house, planning meals and setting a date to start back on LCHF in earnest. Just think of how much better you'll feel once you're back on track! Easier said than done but as you've done it before, you'll be able to do it again.

Hi there, did you get treatment for the depression? Trying to find motivation is hard at the best of times but you need to be in the right frame of mind. A little excercise now will lift your spirits and help with the motivation. Each time you go swimming you will feel the benefit and it will give you the strength to get a handle on the diet aspect of your troubles. Take small steps, remember this is a marathon not a sprint. Good luck to you.

Hi @Kellrob - welcome back :) :)

You can do it - you know what to do and how well it works. We're all here to support you and give advice/encouragement whenever you need it.

Well done for getting back to swimming with your bad back - is it helping your back?

I recommend starting with the basics - cutting out the real badies - then step it up as you need to. x
