Expiry 25/2/2017 Lot will update when I get home

Morning all, just to say I'm on my 3rd replacement from a box of 4, very unusual for me. Anyone else had an issue with this batch?

@CarbsRok cant think of other Dex users...

@Engineer88 Good morning to you as well. In the last year I have had countless problems with sensors my last box is a nightmare to say the least. Animas have always replaced which is very good of them I have also told Animas I am not impressed with the downhill quality of the sensors provided

I've not had any replaced, but they don't seem to be lasting as long. At the beginning of the year they did 2 weeks easily; now it's about 10 days before they're not worth using any more.

According to a Dexcom, a box of four sensors aren't made from the same "Batch" to avoid issues like this. I suppose it's possible that an entire months worth of inventory could be bad, but I highly doubt it.

If you've ever looked at a Dexcom sensor, all it is is a wire and metal contact. There's not a lot that could be manufactured incorrectly.

I get the occasional bad sensor myself. I suppose it's possible that it's user error, but I'm very consistent with how and where I install my sensors every time.

Can you explain the batch issue? Who told you they are different? As they all have the same lot number and animas have agreed they seem to be a bad lot and expect to replace all 4.

I've been using the system for nearly 3 years and never had a box this bad, so I don't think it's user error (including rotating sites etc)

I had a box recently where 3 out of the 4 actually bent double when inserted. They were removed because due the sensors showing double arrows up and then down within two mins of each other this was repeated for 4 hours yet a finger poke showed 0.3 change in samples over the 4 hours. On removal the damage to the sensor could be seen.

I've raised the issue with Dexcom in the past. I'm only sharing the information that was shared with me.

What I was told was that all four of the sensors in a particular box are made at different times to avoid situations like that.

Of course, it's very possible that the rep I spoke to was full of s***, but it seems like basic quality control to implement measures like that to avoid an entire box not working.

Ok thanks, never been able to speak to dexcom (unless animas option 5 go through to them now)

I have had a few sensor failures in a row, and it turned out to be a bad transmitter. Animas has told me that if you have 3 sensor failures back-to-back-back all within the sensors 7 day warrantied period they will replace your transmitter (if it is still within the 6 month period)

I had 3 failures out of 1 box, and the said they would send me an entirely new box of 4, but that i should replace my transmitter as well.

Are they all just giving you the 'sensor failure' warning within the 7 day warranty? or is it something else?

No 'Sensor failure', Just hours of ??? then it started doing short periods of ANT as well (its attached to me how could it possibly be out of range?!)

Ive been told they will only replace the 4th senor when it starts doing the same and the transmitter needs to be ANT for over an hour to get replaced. talk about one rule for one! @Diamattic where are you based? are you in the UK?

I am in Canada @Engineer88

How old is your Transmitter?

After how many days of use before you get these '???' ?

The question marks are common once you get out of the first 7-10 days, and I find happen more during and after a shower, or if they are in a location where they may be easily disturb or when I am more active - I frequently get ??? during my stretching at the gym, or after showers, or when they are on my side and I am laying on the couch 'stretching' that side just watching TV.

Perhaps try a very different location ?
