Basal

If you go high at 2-3 hours after food it is your bonus that needs attention. Me personally, I would have given more bonus but lowered my basal by a unit. This would also depend on time(s) of taking the basal insulin too. Ie what type it is as tresiba, language all act differently.

The thing is though, you should not be down to the same level 4 hours after food. You should be down to your target level.

So my question is.... If you are say 7.0 bg before food are you giving yourself just a bonus for the food or a correction factor of bonus as well?

Today as an example. Before dinner at 1pm I was 6.3... Starting rising by 14:15 and went up to 13.9. Stayed between that and at 5pm (4 hours later) I was 8.1. I've had worse days than this with the same ratio and the Same dinner where ive stayed higher for longer.

That is high, as Emottha says, give low-carb a try and see if this helps with your postprandial spikes.
