My wife has type 2 diabetes, diagnosed last year and is taking slow-release 500mg metaformin which seems to be helping, and her blood sugar levels are pretty good now.
She's trying to lose weight but also takes 150 microgram Levothyroxine for an underactive tyhroid which makes weight loss a bit more tricky.
Her job is quite physical so, although her weight is slowly coming down, as she's on her feet a lot she gets severe lactic acid build-up in her legs after the end of her shift.
It has been suggested by a friend that to alleviate the lactic acid build-up she could take BCAA and Glutamine, Not knowing anything about these I've googled them to get more information and there DOES seem to be some possible benefit but I wondered if anyone on here could provide any insight into them and possible side-effects.

Thanks

Type of diabetes
Type 2
Treatment type
Tablets (oral)
Have used them a lot in the past as weight training supplements , so cant comment on their effectiveness with Diabetes, but they are both very safe and long term tested supps, with no side effects I am aware of...........:)

Probably cheapest here http://www.myprotein.com/sports-nutrition/l-glutamine/10636931.html and http://www.myprotein.com/sports-nutrition/bcaa/10529280.html and try this code MP120096 it might get you a
discount ( and me some points :) )

And 50% off at the moment :)

PS. I always took sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) for lactic acid buildup

Okay, thanks for the reply and thanks for the link as well.
I'll get a small pack of each and see how she goes.
