Pasta, sorry to me it's vile, yeuch lol (and full of nasty carbs)
Anyone out there finding that a lot of BD Micro Fine 4mm needles for pens are just too fine and bend on injecting sometimes ? I think they are a pain in the butt and wondered if you get a higher gauge needle for pens. Ta

Yes you can get a higher gauge needles so mention the problem to your gp. I've used the BD Micro-Fine 4mm needle for around a year now and not had any issues, do you have skin like a rhinoceros :)

My 15 year old son was diagnosed type 1 around 3 weeks ago and has had the same problem with those needles as well. They kind of bounce off the skin as well as bend. His DN recommend going on a longer needle. He wasn't having any of that though.

I use the BD Micro fine 0.25 x 5mm I haven't had any issues to be honest, I don't think a longer needle is needed if you're having problems just one with a thicker gauge

Thanks all. No Noblehead I don't have rhino skin, I'm sure it's baby soft at my age lol. I think 4mm is fine but a slightly thicker gauge would probably suit me better. :)

I've also been using these needles for a few years now and have never experienced them bending , I feel nervous now reading this .
Fingers crossed at my next injection haha .

:p

I have a box of the micro needles, but they are back up to my 5mm because you can never not have enough needles around for injecting (don't like them as they don't go deep enough, but when your out of options and no income to buy more needles they work in a pinch).

Cheers folks....maybe a six inch nail would suit me better. Don't get paranoid Cloe I think it's a personal issue with my belly being a bit on the tough side lol lol:wacky:

Haha six inch nail !! That made me giggle , yourll have to share your experience with us on that trial :p.
Thank u for your reply , made me feel less nervous , I hope you get a better needle for yourself soon . And all works well .
Take care .
:):):)

Keep smiling Cloe :) Gotta laugh now and again. Think they should rename Diabetes to Direbeaten sometimes lol. Byee :p

I've never had a problem with 4mm needles going into the skin. You might ask for GlucoRX 4mm needles as they are one gauge thicker i.e. 31G rather than 32G. These are also cheaper for the NHS.

Thanks to all replies. Going to ask my GP/DSN if a 6mm 29 or 30 gauge would be better due to the amounts I'm injecting.
