Can a few people on here please give me a helping hand on what sort of things they eat before bedtime which don't put bloods up (Im Type 2). I try to low Carb as I have Acid Reflux and bread, crackers, etc make this worse. I usually have a small bowl of porridge before bed but perhaps this isn't the best thing I could have. Any suggestions of a tasty snack - not toast as it is the worse thing for my acid reflux. Would be very grateful for any help on this. Thanks in advance.

Cheese.
Nuts.
Full fat plain yogurt and some berries (I like to add a bit of fake sugar).
Eggs.

reflux, put a brick under the head of the bed legs..this makes the head 4" higher than the foot and helps stop stomach spillage

best is no grain and LC, but it seems you have found that out :)
alcohol is no good to me either

Do you want some supper out of habit? Is it a habit you could kick? Maybe a warm drink such as a decaf coffee with a couple of spoonsful of cream?

I don't do snacks, but I recall @Brunneria posting a low carb hot chocolate that sounded divine, but carb friendly at the same time. Perhaps she might drop by and help.

(@kimbo1962 also does something similar for her tuck in treat.)

If you have that urge, why not do a stir fry (beef mince / cabbage / spices). split it up for the freezer into small portions and use that as a late nite snack?

I certainly do....1 teaspoon of pure cocoa(virtually carb free) 2 teaspoons canderel, mix with boiling water then add a dash of double cream- so much nicer than the overly - sweet packet stuff!!

Hi do you take any medication for your acid reflux, there is a bit more choice now ...of better medications ...
For some , acid reflux happens at different times , but night always seems to be the worse ...keeping people awake for ages ...

Really worth exploring a medication ....if you would like to ....

I have a bowl of small berries , warmed in the microwave with a bit of melted chocolate 70% ...I have this around nine pm ...
But if having acid reflux attacks , my meal times have to change ...best wishes...Kat

I make cocoa with water then add cream, tastes gorgeous and no carbs. And is much better than the high sugar drinking chocolate rubbish.

I take omeprazole for mine, one a day keeps it away.
