Well as me and the OH were in town today I went and got my ring sized, because of my weight loss!!

Please, I can hear the giggles now!

Yes, a very special finger ring (behave now!) which I recieved for my fiftieth birthday was continually sliding off my finger.

I am pleased to report that it has gone smaller by three ring sizes! Whoopee!

Hope others have had similar experiences having their rings sized!:p

@nosher8355 Thought you was going to say you had sold all your
jewellery and weighed lb's less for it :wacky:
Must admit Mr T and P Diddy came to my mind with all the bling jewellery.:woot:

No well done you :)
Having wedding? ring made smaller for your weight loss .
Huge step and shows your committed to both your marriage? and diabetes self
management .
Is it your wedding ring finger ?

Thought you were getting married Nosher when I seen the title of the thread :)

Well done btw.

I am going to have to do the same with all my rings, but I'm worried of losing some of their value. I can't wear them for fear of losing them.

Wouldn't think so, provided you go to a reputable jeweller it should be fine.

I lost my wedding ring 4 years ago after losing some weight, never did find it so had to get a replacement, but a replacement is never the same as the original :(

I don't suppose my wedding ring will fit again yet. I took it off years ago and am quite happy not wearing one. I've had some horrid comments though. If they bothered to ask why I don't wear one I would tell them it's because I injured my finger years ago when the car door slammed into it one very windy day. I've been scared to wear a ring since. But hey, no, the gossip is more fun I'm sure.

How about this for bad timing ....

In September, my husband and I celebrated our ruby wedding. My wedding ring had been getting tighter over the years, so we agreed we would get it made larger, along with my engagement ring, my mother's and grandmother's angagement rings. It was all very expensive.

On October 8th I was diagnosed as prediabetic and since then the weight has fallen off ....

And so have the rings.

I have never worn a wedding ring due to my long time previous employment. You just couldn't wear anything but gloves in my job.
It is a specially made gold ring with the emblem of my local football club on it. To my knowledge and the jeweller there are only two in existence. Pure 24 carat gold. And worth more than my life if I ever lost it!!! The OH has rightly threatened me many times concerning losing or damaging it!!

BTW I have had my new medical alert necklace properly engraved at the same time.

If I don't concentrate, my brain keeps 'missing' my ring and necklace!! Funny hay!

I'll never know if I need to alter mine or if it now fits again as mr e put it and all my other valuables in a safe place in the attic and be can't remember where. Our attic is the same size as a small flat and he believes he popped the bag it was in under a floorboard and that it may have been moved by the mice that drag stuff everywhere up there. We have made a start emptying it to look for it but it's a slow job. I'm thinking a metal detector for his birthday.
