I presume that your Nurse's advice is "eat complex carbohydrates with each meal". I am afraid that most diet-controlled T2 diabetics find that this doesn't work very well. However, anything that works for you is advice worth following. The important thing is to know whether or not it is working for you. What is your typical fasting BG level? If it is under 6 mmol/l, then carry on doing whatever you are doing. If it is much over this then you need to make changes to your diet. If you don't know what your BG is on a daily basis, and have been told not to test, then I would absolutely ignore that advice! Monitoring your BG is the only way in which you can tell whether your diet - whatever it may be - is working or not.Tigerhair said:Nurse's advice or low carb... which should I do? :?: :?: :?: :?:
