For several years I've been taking a Benecol yogurt most days, to finish off my evening meal. I noticed weeks ago that I was heading low around 2 hours after dinner, so I changed my carb ratio (basal was ok).
Last week I was putting away the shopping and noticed the Benecol pack looked a little different. I saw "no added sugar" and wondered if this was new, or had the yogurt always been like this. I checked the carbs on the pack and they had changed.
The old yogurt was around 14g per pot but the new ones around 6g per pot!
I started using the new carb value when bolussing my evening meals and have now noticed a pattern of highs afterwards.
It looks like Benecol changed to "no add sugar" weeks before I noticed, so I now have to change my evening ratio back to what it was.
Just goes to show that we should still read the carb content of food, even if we've been buying it for a long time.
