I've type 1 since 1975, and am 48 and overweight by 2-3 stone. I've tried Weight Watchers but couldn't stick to it. I think I need to go back to carb counting and less of them! Any suggestions on good Apps to help me please, there seem to be so many I don't know where to start.

I did WW a few years ago, with carb counting too, not eliminating carbs totally, nor counting points (just carbs-insulin) along with exercise & I lost about 2Kg (5lbs) in the 3 months I did it for. Though as you say, I couldn't stick to it either & have put it back on, though still exercising at the gym & cycling too.
I've not used any app's or anything for weight loss, just will power, knowledge & support should help. searching for low carb meals or foods would help too with having less insulin (bolus & basal) if you need to.

I used it to put on weight but I think most people use it to lose weight, but I found My Fitness Pal good :)

It has a very good database of foods and shows nutrients as well as calories.

Totally agree that MFP is the app to track what you eat and calorie count. If you have a smartphone you can even scan the labels rather than having to search. I use it almost every day - also has some high street restaurant too to make it easier to track if you go out to eat.

The one we've found most useful is weightlessresources.co.uk. It's not an app per se but if you cook a lot of your own food, you can create all the recipes and numbers of servings. Very effective!

Cook & Count would be a useful when cooking food from scratch:

@Amandast, my wife (not diabetic) lost 3 stone with Slimming World and when she was enrolled on the course there was a type 2 who lost 5 stone and was still losing weight.
