Best book for bf???

Hi All

Just wondering if there's a good book about that my bf can read to get him clued up on diabetes, I'm a type 1 and i've told him stuff about what to do when i have a hypo, but he wants a book to read

Hi TallGirl,

I'd have to recommend either 'Think Like a Pancreas' by Gary Scheiner or
'Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solution', if he really wants to nail diabetes to the wall.

Hi Tallgirl, why don't you just point him in the direction of this forum, it's not exclusively for us diabetics, if he's got any questions then I'm sure he'll find the right advice? I've never bothered with buying books, I've sorted my diabetes out through my own trial and error (and a very caring nurse). On that last point, I've taken people with me to my appointments with doctors and nurses, and I don't know about yours, who have never objected and it's been good for my mother and the like to understand the processes. Best of luck with the house and insurance.

There is book called Diabetes for Dummies. (not being funny)

Haven't read it myself, but having read others in the same series, might be worth a look ?? Usually found in most High street bookstores.

Anyone know if it is any good ?

Ken.

taking him with me would be a good idea but he's at work and wouldnt be able to get time off for it. Shame really

I bought a good book called something like "living with diabetes, the first year". Very informative and breaks it down into months so you can read it as you go through the year.
