Good eveningI have used Accu_Chek Performa, Abbot's Freestyle Lite, and I now use a Contour Next. All of the meters have been accurate and easy to use and have got free from their websites.
They all have the ability to produce great charts of various readings, I got the Contour Next as it is bluetooth and I can export the data to my Samsung phone and tablet.
Thank you again sweetheart yes I will be buying the monitor and the test strips.Do you self-fund the strips or do you get them on prescription?
This might change the answers you get, as the cost of teststrips is one to keep in mind.
I did mention that the meters I use are available "free" from the manufactures website, so no need to spend your money. Will be purchasing the monitor myself
Mine is type 2 due to the medication I was on for 20 years is it only free for type 1: sweetheartI did mention that the meters I use are available "free" from the manufactures website, so no need to spend your money.
Good eveningAnd don't forget to tell them that you are diagnosed diabetic so you don't have to pay VAT.

Many thanks x
Thank you so much much appreciated xIt's free if you are on insulin or another drug which can induce hypoglycemia. A few GPs will prescribe it for new T2s, but most don't (cost cutting measure by the NHS).
