Being a diabetic
Would it either be attending a diet club, such as SW or going low carb which will reduce insulin levels etc.

Thanks you xx

I'm Type 2 on no medication. I lost weight by not eating pasta, rice or potatoes and only eating The Food Doctor pitta bread. I avoided low fat food as it contains sugar. I exercise 45-minutes to 1 hour after eating and have lost 4.5 stone so far. I am very strict with myself about what I eat and don't eat anything like chocolate, cakes or anything like that at all.

WOW 4.5 stone fantastic, by not eating low-fat should I presume you are full fay mayo, butter, cheese, etc ?

Me too. Now losing weight (after 10 years of trying) by low carbs and full fat, but not hydrogenated fats or low fat spreads. Whole, natural foods and carbs of less than 100g a day total.

For me it's low carb, being as healthy as possible with my food choices (although I do allow myself the occasional naughty day!) and lots of exercise. I find I out weight on very easily but it take a lot of work to shift the pounds! Personally I've never found slimming clubs much help, but everyone is different. I prefer to set myself goals and allow myself treats if I reach them e.g. I want to lose half a stone for a friends wedding. If I do it I'm allowed to buy that beautiful dress I saw in coast along with a new bag and matching shoes! It works for me lol. I find it also helps to have a friend onside to keep me on track. We motivate each other to go to the gym or to make the right choices if we go out for lunch etc.

There is no "best way" to lose weight. You just need to find a solution that suits you. Once you get to your target weight make sure you maintain it - it's a lot easier to do this!

Good luck with it all :)

Actually I don't really eat much fat at all and have always used skimmed milk. My husband has familial hypercholesterolemia so we have always had low fat spreads, skimmed milk etc. It's really since I've been diagnosed with diabetes that I've realised that products like low-fat yogurt have sugar in them to make them more palatable.
