Hi
I was newly diagnosed on Tuesday with a BG of 26 although the first test I did at home before starting any treatment was 15.6. I am on 1500mg of Metaformin every day and since diagnosis have been researching as much as I can. The advice given on these websites being the most useful. I have been on a low carb diet and taking in roughly 60 carbs a day. I have been feeling quite sick and tired in the morning but getting more energy as the day goes on - I have been putting that down to starting on a high dose of Metaformin straight off and weaning off carbohydrates. I have been testing my bloods periodically and was quite happy that they seemed to be coming down although jumping about a bit. Was gutted however to find that having had a fasting result of 13.5 this morning, 13.7 couple of hours after breakfast and then 16.7 just before lunch.
Does anyone have any clue as to what might be causing this. Does it usually take some time for things to settle and is there any advice or insight as to what I can do to prevent.
Many thanks
