Hi Les,
Your low is not termed low as it is in normal range.
Anything between. 4-6mmols is in normal range, others can cope with lower without going hypo!
Did you have anything to eat or was that a fasting test?
What you need to put down on here is your pre meal then your 2 hour after first bite!
That will give you an idea on how your doing.
You test often like this for every meal if you can afford the strips.
You can get rogue readings, where the reading you get doesn't make sense.
If you don't wash and dry thoroughly your hands before testing and if you get a rogue reading repeat it.
There can be up + or - 15% on any reading.
The idea of testing is not the one off is right reading.
The testing is to see what particular food or groups of foods or meals do to your blood glucose levels. To see if there is a trend in how you are managing your levels.
Keep a food diary, and record everything down in it including any snacks, drink or anything important.
Testing and experimenting is fun, try new things and learn about how foods affect you!
Have a read of the low carb forum, there is some great ideas and recipes on there!
Hope this helps!
