Help. I have just eaten my dinner and the level is high for me 8.2 2 hours after a meal it was 5.2 before. I am just learning and would appreciate any advice.

I had 100g meatballs from Asda (1.2 CHO per 100g of which 1.2 sugar) I cooked these on bed of one onion, stick celery and 6 small tomatoes. My husband and I had half of this each. I also had 100g of cauli mash with knob of butter and 8 brussels. I then had a passion fruit with one teaspoon of double cream.
Thanks

This could be down to some ingredient in the meatballs. Asda website doesn't give any nutrition information. Have you looked at the packaging ? Passion Fruit could also add the carb content of the meal.

I have just looked at the packaging 94% pork rest rusk (wheat flour and seasoning) Do you think this is too big a meal for the evening. I look at what others seem to eat and it varies-I suppose this is the trial error bit.

I don't think it's the meal size. It is more likely to be the Rusk and Wheat Flour content. I have to avoid any sort of bread and flour based products. Sends my Bg soaring if I try eating them.

I think I'll give them a miss and make my own. Do you think the onion and celery we okay slow roasted with olive oil or will they spike BG too? Sometimes I think I am getting the hang of things and then my BG tell me otherwise. Thanks for help

Home made has to be the best, no fillers. Onion, Celery, Peppers etc roasted in the oven as you describe is one of my treats. Negligible effect on Bg levels. Should be OK. Keep trying, it get's better.
