Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I haven't been on since as the eyes are playing up following more laser surgery. (The joys!) I'm just incredibly frustrated as I've just been told it looks like I now need more laser again on the first eye as there is new growths in it - no doubt due to my sugar levels!!
I've been wanting to get on a pump since May, but still no appointment for the consultant to even begin to get that ball rolling.... meanwhile I'm still trying hard, getting nowhere and eyesight is being destroyed.
Sounds like one way or another I need off this Lantus. That's shocking.
I tend to eat very little, if any carb till tea time. I still have to inject a few units at breakfast/lunch regardless. Either correction doses or just to try and keep things even. It varies from day to day how much of an effect these have. Increasing the night injection leaves me with night time hypos - splitting the dose could well be the way forward. Thank you for the info!
Yes, it's always a work in progress. I didn't expect the course to have my levels sorted, done and dusted. But felt like I was better armed to deal with what diabetes throws at me. It really isn't proving to be the case and I don't feel any further forward with it all. The advice they give is wonderful; but in my case it's just not working.
