Hi, Iam having trouble keeping my levels down below 7, because whenever I get there I become very light headed and my vision is blurred, and all I want to do is eat sweet things and start binging. Is there anything I can do? I can't put more weight on not after losing 2 stone.

Hi,

If you've been running high for a long time, your body will take a while to adjust to the new lower blood sugars. Hopefully, if you keep at and try and stick with what you are doing you will naturally adjust. 7 is pretty good, but it is still a bit high.

What type of medication are you on?

Dillinger

History: Diagnosed in 2006. 4ft 11in. weighing 15st 7lbs. BG 28.
2009. weighing 13st 8lbs. BG 7-13 average

Hi valeris.

Still not sure about the DI. Which type were you diagnosed with please. There are 4 types ?

Diabetes insipidus and diabetes mellitus should not be confused. Mellitus occurs due to insulin deficiency or insulin resistance and subsequent high blood glucose levels. The two forms of diabetes are unrelated, and diabetes mellitus is far more common. Diabetes insipidus is a completely different type of illness.

Hi valeris.

I thought so. Don't worry. You are not the first to get confused. It's just it does make a big difference to the answers you will get.

Your profile actually states Diabetes Insipidus. Can you change it in the user control panel please.
I would assume you are therefore a Type 2 on Insulin ? together with the meds.

I promise after this I will get back to answering YOUR questions. :D

Hi Valeris.

Another new member had the same problem. It may well be what is called a 'false hypo'.
Take a look at this link for the full info. It may be of some use.
