For a couple of weeks, I have felt my mood rapidly going down hill. Today, wham, full blown manic phase. All day I have been eating non stop.
I had bought my mum a large box of black magic chocolates for Christmas, I have demolished the whole bix in one go. I can,t efen stand dark chocolate.
I dread to think what my bs levels have been today as am too scared to test.
Normally I am pretty level headed with my eating when I get like this, but today has to be the worst

Oh dear, Ally. That's a pest. Well, pest is the most polite word I can come up with.

If you still feel the same tomorrow, would a call to your community PN be something to consider?

Chin up. Today's nearly over, and hopefully tomorrow will be a brand new day.

you have so much to fight with dear , don´t hate yourself , sometimes it is just too much, by the way I think your numbers have been better this last week ... at least your morning blood glucose.. dark chokolate is not the worst , in many ways it is actually also healthy, though 80% is better than the 60% chokolate..

Start afresh tomorrow if you can, lass. Big hugs.

Hope whatever has brought this on for you is well and truly over with, and you can look forward to a new day and more, from tomorrow on.

all the best Ally :)

Drink lots of water, Ally, then get a notepad out or go on the My Fitness Pal website and do a week of recording everything you eat with the carbs you've eaten. It gets me back on track when I've hit binge mode.

Best wishes. xx

I am sorry to read this, Ally.
Can you put today well and truly behind you, and believe that tomorrow is another day?
Thank you bluetit.
I know that this kind of thing can happen and I have to deal with it.
Up until a couple of weeks ago, I thought how well I was coping with the bipolar.
This episode has really smacked me in the face

Roll on tomorrow and if need be, I will call the cpn, though I am due to see the psych on the 6th december

Any idea what triggered it?

I know for me I think I can get away with a few more carbs then.....wham! I look for something sweet.
Mine is definitely carb cravings from just over that level I'm good on.
You?
If just chocolates and you managed to eat low carb after then you'll be fine.
If continued after chocs with sweet foods it is definitely a carb craving session.

I totally agree breakfast eaten with meds, as usual will reset you back into good mode.

Just remember Santa is coming soon. He will ask if you have been naughty or nice! Ha ha

Mind u even with your hiccup we all agree YOUR NICE. ;)
Forget it and continue with good eating. Tomorrow is definitely another day!

Glad you didn't test .... most pleasing thing (if there is one) is you didn't buy the chocolates for yourself

You've made big inroads into your BG levels so great work on that front

When I have a manic phase like now, I literally hit rock bottom, I just eat and eat and ate all sorts. Today is the worse I have ever felt
